Why play against the spread?
Playing against the spread makes the picking of games more difficult. Without it, there would be multiple ties every week.

No, The spreads will not change.

How do I join a league?
Once you have registered and logged in. You will see a link located at the upper right area of the page called "Join A League".
Click on this link to see the available leagues. Access to each league may vary. Please contact a league manager for details about their league. Once the
league manager has accepted your request to join. He/she will give you the league password. At this time you can return to the same page, enter the password and join the league.

How do I remove myself from a league?
Once you log in, click on the "'Your League Name' Players" link located on the left. At the bottom of that page there is
a link for removing yourself from the league.

How do I start a new league?
Once you have registered and logged in. You will see a link located at the upper right area of the page called "Start A League". Please
fill out the form on this page to create a new league.

How do I start a forum for my league?
If your league doesn't already have a forum, it can be created by the league manager using the league administration tools.

I forgot my password. What can I do?
There is a link located directly under the login and password fields called "Lost Password." Click on this link and fill out
the form. Your password will be sent to the email address that you registered with. Otherwise, click on the "Contact" link located at the upper right area of the page and
explain your problem on this form. Or send an email to password@thefanpool.com.

We forgot our league password. How do we find it?
You will need to ask your league manager for the league password. If you are the league manager, you can send yourself an invitation to join your league using the league manager tools.
The invitation will include the league password. Otherwise, click on the "Contact" link located at the upper right area of the page and
explain your problem on this form. Or send an email to password@thefanpool.com.

Can I play without registering?
Yes, you can play every week without registering by clicking on the "No Registrations" link at the top of the page. Unregistered players do not have cumulative scores,
and cannot join leagues. Unregistered names are only active for the week that is played, and are deleted after that week.
The registration process takes seconds and you are not obligated to do anything once you have registered. So why not register?

Are there prizes?
Each league is managed differently. Please contact a league manager for details. fanpool does not provide any prizes at this time.

When are the picks and results posted?
Picks are posted by Tuesday of each week. A printable list of all submitted picks are posted by the first kickoff on Sunday. Results and cumulative scores
are updated Sunday nights and Monday nights (Tuesday morning at the latest).

When are my picks due?
Picks are due one hour before the first game the week, except during weeks with early games.
For example, if there are two Thursday games and the rest are on Sunday and Monday -
the picks for the two Thursday games are due one hour before the first game on Thursday.
The rest of the picks are due one hour before the first game on Sunday.
When you do your picks you will be required to complete picks for every game,
however you can come back any time before the deadline to change them.
If the majority of the games are not played on Sunday, the deadline for all picks may be set to that day.
The deadlines will be posted.

Why is there a "_" before my name?
Unregistered players are represented by a "_" before their name.

How is the pick scored if a game results in a tie?
If two teams tie, the pick answer would be "NO", because the favored team did not beat the spread.

Does the pool continue through the post season?
Yes, the pool continues through the post season, including the Super Bowl.
